An established turnkey contractor with a turnover of over £80 million is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Technical Services team. This is a senior technical position, operating at a level similar to an Associate Engineer, suited to someone with a strong electrical design background and a minimum of 5 years' experience within building services engineering. The role will be based from the company's Greenwich office, supporting major refurbishment, upgrade, critical environment, and infrastructure projects across London and the South East.
The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take ownership of Stage 4 and Stage 5 electrical design development, technical assurance, commissioning activities, and client advisory services. You will play a key role in supporting project delivery teams while also providing technical expertise on existing building assessments, infrastructure upgrades, resilience planning, and critical systems. This role would suit someone looking to move into a more senior technical position without necessarily pursuing a traditional consultancy route.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the assessment of new opportunities and fee proposals
- Develop and produce electrical calculations and design solutions from concept through to detailed design
- Take ownership of Stage 4 and Stage 5 electrical design development
- Review and technically appraise electrical designs and installations
- Provide technical support to project delivery teams across the business
- Monitor construction works and provide technical oversight to ensure quality and compliance
- Lead testing and commissioning activities, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and Black Building Tests
- Undertake technical assessments of existing buildings and infrastructure
- Support clients with long-term asset and infrastructure strategies
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders
