An established and highly respected building services contractor is launching a new regional division focused on delivering projects across Norwich and the surrounding areas and is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to play a key role in its growth and success. The new division will focus on technically challenging projects within the Data Centre, Life Sciences, and Education sectors, offering the opportunity to become part of an exciting growth strategy from the outset.

The business has grown steadily to a turnover of approximately £50m, with clear plans to exceed £75m+ over the coming years. More than 80% of work is secured through repeat business, reflecting strong client relationships and a reputation for delivering high-quality projects. The company also forms part of a major UK construction group with a turnover exceeding £1 billion, providing long-term stability, investment, and career development opportunities.

The Role

You will take the mechanical lead on projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical package from design coordination through to commissioning and handover
  • Act as the primary client-facing lead for mechanical delivery
  • Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and site management teams
  • Manage programme, quality, health & safety, and commercial performance
  • Control variations, reporting, commissioning, and mechanical final accounts
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and apprentices
  • Assist with pre-construction activities and project planning where required
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across the region

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on large-scale building services projects
  • Experience delivering projects within Data Centres, Life Sciences, Education, Healthcare, or similarly complex environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
  • Solid understanding of Design & Build procurement and commercial processes
  • Proactive, organised, and delivery-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the growth of a new regional division
