A leading nationwide building services contractor is seeking a technically strong Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of major residential projects through the pre-construction and procurement phases. This role sits between pre-construction and project delivery, taking ownership of the technical and procurement elements of projects from Stage 3/4 design through to Stage 5 delivery. The position would suit someone from a site management or project delivery background who has developed strong technical knowledge and is now looking to move away from the day-to-day pressures of running live sites while remaining heavily involved in project delivery and engineering coordination.
Role Overview
You will take responsibility for managing the technical progression of projects through design development, procurement, technical submissions, and equipment selection, ensuring projects are fully coordinated and prepared for successful delivery on site. Working closely with estimating, design, commercial, and operational teams, you will act as a key link between pre-construction and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects from Stage 3/4 design through to Stage 5 delivery
- Manage procurement activities from estimating handover onwards
- Produce and manage all electrical technical submissions
- Technically appraise and procure major electrical plant and equipment
- Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams
- Review drawings, specifications, and design information
- Support design coordination and technical problem-solving throughout pre-construction
- Assist operational teams during project mobilization and early delivery stages
- Ensure all technical documentation is managed accurately and in line with programmed requirements
Experience & Requirements
- Background within electrical building services projects
- Previous experience within site management, project engineering, or project management roles
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and infrastructure
- Experience managing technical submissions and procurement processes
- Good understanding of project delivery and construction sequencing
- Experience within residential or large-scale building services projects preferred
