A leading Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join its commercial team.
The business delivers a broad range of commercial projects across London, with particular experience in fast-track fit-out and refurbishment. They also provide in-house design and work across both traditional and Design & Build projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Estimator who wants to take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and work closely with the wider pre-construction, design and commercial teams.
The Role
Based from the company's Canary Wharf office, you will be responsible for pricing a varied portfolio of electrical projects, with values ranging across the commercial sector.
The ideal candidate will have previous commercial fit-out experience, although strong electrical estimating experience from a broader commercial building services background will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial projects.
- Review tender drawings, specifications, schedules and contract information.
- Analyse project requirements and identify risks, exclusions and opportunities.
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Complete material, labour and subcontract pricing.
- Produce accurate and competitive tender submissions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Attend tender meetings and site visits where required.
- Work closely with the design and pre-construction teams.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions.
- Ensure successful tenders are properly handed over to the project delivery team.
- Support the wider commercial team with cost planning and procurement information.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator / Senior Electrical Estimator within M&E Building Services.
- Strong electrical technical knowledge.
- Commercial fit-out experience is highly desirable.
- Experience pricing projects across a range of values and complexities.
- Strong understanding of electrical installations, specifications and drawings.
- Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
