An established and growing mechanical contractor is looking for an ambitious Assistant Mechanical Project Manager to join its team, delivering fast-track Design & Build commercial fit-out projects across London.
Established seven years ago, the business has built an excellent reputation within the commercial fit-out sector and forms part of a wider M&E group, providing both mechanical and electrical services. With ambitious growth plans and a strong pipeline of secured work, this is an exciting opportunity to join the business at an important stage in its journey.
The Role
This role has been created for someone looking to take the next step into project management. You will work closely with an experienced Senior Project Manager, either taking responsibility for a number of smaller projects with ongoing support or acting as the number two on larger contracts. This is a genuine development opportunity where you'll gain exposure to every stage of project delivery while receiving mentoring from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of fast-track Design & Build commercial fit-out projects
- Assist with the day-to-day management of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Attend client, design, and progress meetings
- Assist with procurement and material scheduling
- Support the management of project programmes and budgets
- Produce and manage project documentation, including RFIs, technical submissions, and O&M information
- Monitor installation quality and ensure projects are delivered safely and on programme
- Work closely with Senior Project Managers to develop your project management skills
Experience & Requirements
- Experience within the mechanical building services industry
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Supervisor, Site Manager, or Junior Project Manager
- Experience working on commercial fit-out or Design & Build projects would be advantageous
- Good understanding of mechanical building services installations, including HVAC, plumbing, and pipework
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
