A leading M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Project Manager with a strong mechanical background to lead the delivery of a major laboratory and office fit‑out project in Oxford. With an M&E value of approximately £10 million, this is a flagship project offering the opportunity to take ownership from the earliest pre‑construction stages through to final handover.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of the M&E package, leading project teams through design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. The project is due to commence on site in September, with an opportunity to join beforehand and become involved in pre‑construction activities, subcontractor procurement, programme development, technical coordination, and project planning. This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager looking to step into a senior leadership position or an established Senior M&E Project Manager seeking a significant project with full lifecycle involvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of a £10m M&E package from pre‑construction through to completion
  • Manage all mechanical and electrical project activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support pre‑construction planning, procurement, and technical coordination activities
  • Manage subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams
  • Ensure programme, commercial, quality, and health & safety objectives are achieved
  • Chair project meetings and maintain strong stakeholder communication
  • Oversee technical submissions, RFIs, commissioning, and handover processes
  • Monitor project performance and report to senior management
  • Drive project delivery while maintaining strong client relationships
Experience & Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior M&E Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Project Manager
  • Strong mechanical building services background
  • Experience delivering large‑scale commercial, laboratory, life sciences, or technical fit‑out projects
  • Experience managing M&E packages valued at £5m+
  • Strong understanding of design & build project delivery
  • Excellent commercial, programme, and stakeholder management capability
