A leading main contractor specializing in super-prime residential and high-end commercial refurbishment projects is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor or Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. With an annual turnover of approximately £150m, the business delivers prestigious projects ranging from £10m to £90m, with a typical project value of £20m-£40m under two-stage Design & Build procurement. Projects include some of London's most exclusive residential developments across Knightsbridge, Chelsea, and Kensington, alongside complex commercial refurbishment and 'cut and carve' schemes throughout the West End and City of London.

Role Overview

This is a site-based role, although during the pre-construction phase you will be based from the company's Central London office before transitioning onto site once projects commence. You will take ownership of the commercial management of MEP packages from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients. This opportunity would suit either an established MEP Quantity Surveyor looking to step up or an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking involvement in some of London's most prestigious developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial delivery of MEP packages from pre-construction through to final account
  • Procure and manage MEP subcontract packages
  • Prepare valuations, variations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Produce cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and payment processes
  • Support tender reviews and pre-construction commercial activities
  • Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects remain commercially protected and contractually compliant

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor or Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health packages
  • Experience working on major construction projects within the UK market
  • Background working for a main contractor, M&E contractor, or specialist subcontractor
  • Good understanding of JCT contracts and commercial management processes
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion
