Mechanical Project Manager - Data Centres

A leading Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join its specialist Data Centre division, delivering one of its flagship projects based in Slough.
With a strong pipeline of mission-critical work, the business delivers technically complex Data Centre projects for some of the world's leading technology and infrastructure clients. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a major mechanical package while working within one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction.

The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the mechanical package on a large-scale Data Centre project from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
You'll work closely with Construction Managers, Engineers, commercial teams, subcontractors and the client to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the exceptionally high standards expected within mission-critical environments.
This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and wants to develop their career within the Data Centre sector.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical package from pre-construction through to practical completion.
Manage Mechanical Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
Oversee procurement, technical submissions, RFIs and design coordination.
Monitor programme, quality, Health & Safety and commercial performance.
Chair client, design and progress meetings.
Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure a smooth project handover.
Manage project risks and proactively resolve technical issues.
Liaise closely with consultants, supply chain partners and the wider project team.
Ensure contractual obligations and programme milestones are achieved.
Produce regular project reports and updates for senior management.
Maintain excellent client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience & Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the Building Services industry.
Previous experience delivering Data Centre, critical infrastructure or other technically complex projects is highly desirable.
Strong background managing large mechanical building services packages.
Experience leading project teams on major construction projects.
Excellent understanding of programme management and commercial awareness.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience.
SMSTS.
CSCS Card.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Skills

Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical building services.
Commercially aware with strong contractual understanding.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work under pressure.
