We are representing a highly respected M&E Contractor with a strong reputation across education, healthcare, life sciences, leisure, and student accommodation projects. With a turnover of £55m and £21m cash in the bank, they are one of the most financially secure businesses in the region, growing steadily year on year through collaborative working and long-term client partnerships. Due to sustained growth, they are looking to add Mechanical Estimators to their pre-construction team. For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to step into an Estimating Manager position.
The Role
- Prepare mechanical tenders and cost plans on projects typically up to £12.5m (sweet spot £5m-£6m).
- Work across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, life sciences, leisure, and student accommodation.
- Liaise with supply chain partners to ensure best value.
- Provide technical and commercial input during the pre-construction phase.
- Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Mentor junior estimators if stepping into a management role.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services.
- Sector experience in education, healthcare, or life sciences preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen and technical understanding.
- Ability to work full-time in the Cambridge office (with flexibility to use Colchester office).
- Senior candidates should be confident in leading estimating functions.
