We’re working with a leading M&E contractor delivering innovative building services solutions across the UK and Europe. They are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major life sciences project based in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team on a technically complex project within a fast-growing and future-focused sector. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth coordination of mechanical packages, from design through to installation and commissioning.
The Role
- Assist in managing mechanical packages on a large-scale life sciences development
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure delivery aligns with programme, design intent, and client requirements
- Liaise with design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries
- Manage technical submittals, RFI responses, and quality documentation
- Support procurement processes and track equipment and material deliveries
- Monitor site progress, support commissioning activities, and assist with project handover
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Experience delivering mechanical building services on large commercial or technical projects
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical infrastructure
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Life sciences or cleanroom experience is advantageous but not essential
