We are looking for a Front of House Manager for a permanent opportunity at a Refugee Centre in the Braintree area. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Front of House (FOH) Manager to lead our front-of-house team and help ensure a smooth, warm, and efficient dining experience for all guests.
Your Role: As FOH Manager, you will be the face of the restaurant. You will oversee the dining area, supervise and support service staff, and work closely with the kitchen and community coordinators to maintain high service standards, while being sensitive to the unique needs of our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and train FOH staff (hosts, servers, and volunteers) in customer service and safety procedures
- Ensure daily service operations run smoothly and efficiently
- Maintain a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for guests from diverse backgrounds
- Handle guest feedback and resolve conflicts with empathy and professionalism
- Liaise with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food service
- Monitor inventory of FOH supplies and assist with procurement
- Uphold hygiene, food safety, and site-specific security protocols
What We're Looking For:
- Prior experience in hospitality, preferably in a supervisory or management role
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, with cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- Fluency in English required; additional languages (Arabic, French, Farsi, Kurdish, etc.) a plus
