Job Summary Health care assistant
The health care assistant works in a fast-paced school environment, supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with complex health, personal care, and wellbeing needs to ensure safe and inclusive access to education.
The healthcare will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the supervision of the School Nurse/School Leads, the role delivers high-quality, person-centred care, including assistance with daily activities, delegated clinical tasks, physiotherapy support, emergency first aid, safeguarding, and keeping up to date accurate records.
The post holder promotes dignity, independence, and inclusion, while actively contributing to a safe, supportive, and nurturing school community. Aligned with the organisation’s mission to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and reduce health inequalities, the role requires compassion, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in line with school policies, ELS’s policies and procedures, clinical standards, and best practice.
