Job Overview

I am a beautiful 6 year old girl with complex medical needs. I enjoy getting out and about with my family and friends, going for walks, to the park, swimming, and sensory play activities such as bubbles, sand, and water play. You will help my needs be met overnight to ensure I have a good night's sleep.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the administration of my feed via gastronomy and pump from 10 pm to 5 am.
  • In the morning (6:30 am to 7 am), if I am awake, get me dressed and hoisted into my chair.
  • Monitor oxygen saturations every hour and adjust respiratory care accordingly; change the saturation probe every 4 hours.
  • Overnight monitor the use of CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure).
  • Reposition me in bed using my sleep system as required.
  • Maintain personal hygiene overnight as required.
  • Using my care plan as a guide, monitor seizures and, if needed, administer chest physiotherapy percussions, suction, and nebuliser.
  • Perform extra duties including cleaning and charging equipment, organising my clothes, and changing my bedding.

All training will be provided and shadow shifts organised to begin with.

Desired Experience:

Previous experience working in the care sector or a medical environment is desired. We are looking for female applicants only.

Hours:

30 hours in total is being advertised. However we are open to accepting applications for 10, 20, or 30 hours. Shifts are available on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Rate £16.50 per hour, 5.6 weeks per annum pro rata (including bank holidays). Hours are 10‑hour shifts from 10 pm to 8 am (finish at 7:30 am to account for a 30‑minute break).
