I am a beautiful 6 year old girl with complex medical needs. I enjoy getting out and about with my family and friends. I love going for walks and to the park, as well as going swimming and enjoying a range of sensory play activities such as bubbles, sand and water play.

Duties

  • 10pm to 5am – monitor the administration of my feed via gastronomy and pump. My next of kin get this set up for me before the shift starts.
  • 6.30am to 7am – if I am awake get me dressed for the day and hoisted into my chair.
  • Monitor my oxygen saturations every hour and adjust my respiratory care accordingly.
  • Change my saturation probe every 4 hours.
  • Overnight monitor the use of CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure).
  • Reposition me in bed using my sleep system as required.
  • Maintain my personal hygiene overnight as required.
  • Using my care plan as a guide, monitor seizures and if needed administer chest physiotherapy percussions, suction and nebuliser.
  • Next of kin will always be at home if assistance is required.
  • All training is provided.
  • Shadow shifts will be organised to begin with.
  • We are looking for female applicants only.

Extra duties

  • Cleaning and charging equipment, organising my clothes and changing my bedding if needed.

Hours

  • 10 hour shifts 10pm to 8am (finish is at 7.30am).
