Responsibilities

  • Shopping and meal preparation, supporting a healthy diet and weight.
  • Encouragement to shower and wear clean clothes.
  • Maintaining a clean environment, including prompts to make the bed.
  • Prompting medication intake and attending medical appointments.
  • Assistance with correspondence and financial oversight.
  • Support with building and maintaining friendships.
  • Facilitating activities in the local area and beyond.
  • Providing companionship to discuss feelings and worries.

Hours

A minimum of 10 hours per week, generally between 9‑5, with occasional evenings or weekends (e.g., seasonal theatre shows).

Rate

£12.21 per hour.

Essential Requirements

  • Non‑smoker or non‑smoker in the presence of the individual.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong prompting skills and the ability to challenge undesirable behaviours in a supportive manner.
  • Good listening skills with the individual's best interests in mind.
  • Patience, understanding and a good sense of humour.
  • Clear DBS; willing to comply with a DBS check conducted by the employer.
