The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a Tier 1 main contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager for a major refurbishment programme in Plymouth. This is a long-term, well-supported project with a minimum 12-month duration and a clear pathway into a permanent role for those seeking long-term security. The project includes substantial external façade works and internal refurbishment packages, delivered within a live environment. You’ll have full ownership of site delivery, working closely with senior leadership, commercial teams, and specialist subcontractors to drive safe, high-quality outcomes.
Your Role
As Project Manager, you’ll take end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for delivering refurbishment works, including façade packages and internal fit-out
- Managing programme, cost, quality, and safety from pre-construction through to completion
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Ensuring health & safety compliance in line with Tier 1 standards and procedures
- Chairing site meetings and reporting progress to senior stakeholders
- Managing sequencing, interfaces, and live building constraints
- Proactively identifying and managing risks, issues, and change
- Driving programme certainty and maintaining strong site controls
- Supporting handover, snagging, and final account close-out
Experience & Background
- Proven experience as a Project Manager on refurbishment or complex construction projects
- Strong knowledge of façade works and internal construction packages
- Experience working with a Tier 1 or large regional main contractor
- Solid understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, and site logistics
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Solutions-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities
