engstaff-In Recruiting is recruiting on behalf of its client for an experienced and motivated Asbestos Surveyor to join a growing team specialising in social housing refurbishment and demolition surveys across kitchens, bathrooms, and void properties. This role is ideal for a professional who is customer-focused, organised, and confident working independently within occupied residential environments. The current project is based across the Birmingham suburbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264 guidance.
- Conduct surveys within:
- Kitchens
- Bathrooms
- Void flats/properties
- Occupied residential dwellings
- Manage and accurately record survey data using online reporting software.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Take, manage, and dispatch asbestos samples to UKAS accredited laboratories.
- Interpret asbestos analysis results and complete survey reporting accordingly.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents’ homes.
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent the business professionally at all times.
- Complete approximately 15 surveys per week.
- Participate in an on-call emergency rota for asbestos releases and related incidents.
Requirements
- BOHS P402 qualification (essential).
- Proven experience carrying out refurbishment and demolition asbestos surveys.
- Good understanding of HSG264 guidance and asbestos legislation.
- Experience working within social housing environments is highly beneficial.
- Competent in using:
- Online survey/reporting software
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to attend the East Grinstead head office one day per month.
