English Speaking Board (International) Ltd. is recruiting for a Head of Business Development to drive our amazing organisation to its next phase of growth and brand awareness. Our business is a specialist awarding organisation creating, assessing and awarding qualifications for Oracy and English language to 40,000 learners annually, across 12 countries.
To be successful you need to be:
- Enthused by leading a team to analyse business performance in real time, research markets, and present our brand to a diverse UK and international education sector to achieve revenue targets.
- Passionate about creating a deep understanding about our clients and their needs and how our products add value to their work or enable the further study and employment journeys of their learners.

With 18 Head Office colleagues, 80 assessors and markers out in the field and over 250 centres and international clients, we are a busy and constantly evolving workplace.
The main activities of this leadership role:
- Developing a team with detailed product, client and environment knowledge.
- Achieving revenue targets via selling, on selling and cross selling of our products.
- Further developing our brand and digital marketing to achieve sales and quantifiable return on investment.
- Delivering data and analytics to identify new markets, achieve revenue targets and support our outreach campaign.
The post:
- Permanent, full-time (5 days a week) role subject to a 6 months’ probationary period.
- Location: Flexible. Fully remote or hybrid working at ESB’s Office, 9 Hattersley Court, Burscough Road, Ormskirk, Lancashire, L39 2AY, dependent on geographical location of the successful candidate.
- A salary of £44,000-£55,000 dependant on experience and current salary.
- We also offer an attractive pension scheme.
