Responsible to: PR, Marketing and Comms (PRMC) Manager
Primary purpose of role: The planning, creation, execution and optimisation of the Association’s online marketing activity.
Main responsibilities:
- Implement the PR strategy, writing press releases and liaising with media.
- Create content on the Association’s website and social media pages.
- Account-manage our commercial partners' day to day marketing requirements.
- Prepare coherent marketing campaign reports using data analysis tools.
- Manage the marketing database and email distribution.
- Draft marketing materials such as programmes, newsletters and event branding materials.
- Consult with printers and designers and manage the approval process.
- Contribute to event management and delivery of event KPI’s.
- Support the PR, Marketing and Comms Manager in completing agreed activities.
- Stay up to date with the latest marketing trends, tools, and best practices through regular training.
- Fulfill the financial responsibilities of the role as prescribed in the Financial Regulations.
- Participate in training, development and appraisal processes necessary to fulfil the role.
- Support the ESFA Council to fulfil its responsibilities.
- Act with high standards of professionalism, business integrity and personal conduct at all times.
- Act as an ambassador for the ESFA in the conduct of all business.
- Comply with the requirements of the staff handbook.
- Comply with the Association’s safeguarding requirements and contribute to the delivery of the ESFA’s safeguarding plans.
- Use best endeavours to support others in the achievement of their objectives.
- Conduct any other duties as may reasonably be required by the employer.
Special considerations in this role: The role will require some travel and occasional overnight stays, as well as periodic weekend working. The ESFA operates a TOIL policy for such occasions. The ESFA is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants will be expected to undertake training in this subject and may be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. Checks on online presence may also be periodically made.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Essential Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a marketing role or similar.
- Good understanding of marketing channels and stakeholder management.
- Outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinking with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience:
- Experience liaising with media.
- Experience in strategizing social media content.
- Experience in day-to-day account management of commercial clients.
Desirable Experience:
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS (desirable but not essential, training can be sourced and provided).
- Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads).
Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding regulations.
