DRIVING INSTRUCTOR TRAINING WITH ENGLISH SCHOOL OF MOTORING (ESM) – part of the GLS Ltd group.
We offer a full driving instructor course of 3 to 18 months, based on your learning pace and personal commitments. The training combines theory-based learning, one‑to‑one instruction, and on‑road practical sessions. The course is available with no upfront fees (terms and conditions apply). Qualified candidates may earn up to £50,000 a year.
Requirements
- You must be over 22 years old.
- Live in Leeds or surrounding areas.
- Have held a full driving licence for at least 3.5 years and have not been disqualified.
- Commit to at least five hours a week of instructor training.
- Be able to read a number plate from 27.5 m.
- Have an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS check – £8.22).
- Have patience and understanding; some pupils learn faster than others.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Points holders: the Driving Standards Agency may reject your application if you have more than 3 points.
Applicants must have a car to practice driving.
