DRIVING INSTRUCTOR COURSES
Your full driving instructor course lasts between 3 to 18 months, depending on your learning pace and personal commitments. The course combines theory study, one‑to‑one theory training and on‑the‑road practical sessions to prepare you for a successful career.
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- You must be over 22.
- Live in Redcar or surrounding areas.
- Have held a full driving licence for at least 3.5 years and have not been disqualified.
- Commit to at least five hours a week of training as a driving instructor.
- Be able to read a number plate from 27.5 metres.
- Have an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (£8.22).
- Have patience and understanding; some pupils learn faster than others.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- If you have more than 3 points, note that the Driving Standards Agency may reject your application.
You must have access to a car to practice driving.
