Driving Instructor Courses
Your full driving instructor course is between 3 to 18 months and based upon your learning pace and personal commitments. With a structured combination of theory-based learning, one-to-one theory-based training and on-the-road practical sessions, you’ll be fully versed and ready to go.
Driving Instructor Training Requirements
- You must be over 22
- Live in South Shields or surrounding areas
- Have held a full driving licence for at least 3.5 years (and have not been disqualified)
- Commit to at least five hours a week to train as a driving instructor
- Must be able to read a number plate from 27.5m
- Have an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS check – £8.22)
- Have patience & understanding; some pupils learn faster than others
- Excellent communication skills
- Points holders be aware, the Driving Standards Agency may reject your application if you have more than 3 points.
You do need to have a car to practice your driving in.
