Place of work: Flexible covering a patch of properties across Kent and Surrey with requirements for occasional travel to English Rural's office in Surrey and site visits as necessary (Hybrid Contract)
Essential Car User Allowance: This role is eligible for English Rural’s essential car user scheme (£5,200 per annum)

English Rural Housing Association is a leading national rural specialist working to provide affordable homes in small villages for local people. We own and manage around 1,600 affordable properties, spread amongst 150 villages, and have a development programme of around 200 more homes.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape a surveyor role focused on delivering high‑quality repairs, maintenance and void management. Working under the leadership of the Assistant Director of Property Services and collaboratively with housing and surveying colleagues, the role will be expected to inform and deliver agreed business strategy. Managing the performance of external contractors to achieve good value and working within agreed budgets are essential.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in building surveying and property diagnostics. You will need good communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate and work effectively within a fast‑paced environment. Experience in contract management, technical surveying and delivering customer satisfaction are essential, as well as knowledge and experience of stock condition surveying. The right candidate will have sufficient technical expertise, either from a formal qualification or direct experience. English Rural is looking to invest in and develop the right candidate to grow with our business.
