Main Purpose: To be responsible for the day-to-day management of production Line/Cell Leaders and staff ensuring Labour and work is allocated in order to gain maximum efficiencies. To improve and contribute to continuous improvement of plant, process and people through data gathering, analysis and production of action plans.
Please Note: This role is paying between 42K and 45K depending on experience. The role requires 5 days per week onsite and is permanent night shift (11pm to 7am).
Production Management and Procedures:
- To ensure planned production targets are met and that the Production Board is updated.
- To ensure hygiene standards are maintained and ensures ‘Clean as you go’ policy is adhered to by team.
- To ensure all relevant production documentation is completed and checked.
- To attend daily production meetings making sure relevant records / information are current and report KPI’s.
- To oversee and co-ordinate:
- Shift handovers
- Internal hold investigations
- Customer complaint investigations
- Internal corrective actions ensuring they are followed through
- Production data entry
- Production and Schedule variances
- Allocation of labour resource
- Plant Performance Measurement and Generation of KPI data
- Understands line set up, changeovers and cleaning regimes in their area and is able to manage them effectively.
- Understands all HACCP principles and respects and manages CCP procedures.
- Understands, manages and controls traceability.
- Ensures holiday / Return to Work forms are completed correctly and on time.
- Completes own and ensures team members complete all company paperwork with accuracy and on time.
- Ensures all checks are done to the correct standard, on time and are accurately recorded at the time of the check.
- Ensures allergen procedures are adhered to and is responsible for hygiene, cleaning, paperwork, procedures and safety within their area.
- Adheres to and champions all company procedures and policy.
- Challenges others when company policy, standards or best practice are not being adhered to.
- Provide support for any audits as appropriate.
- Ensure that actions arising from inspections and audits are carried out and completed.
- Assists with on-line trials.
People Management:
- To maintain staff discipline and maintain records of incidents as appropriate, involving HR when necessary.
- To ensure staff are properly equipped for their job function.
- To oversee and co-ordinate staff reviews and appraisals.
- Creates a climate in which people want to do their best and invites input from others to motivate staff and maintain staff morale.
- Recognises training levels, ability and competencies within their team and ensures the correct skills are used in the correct place.
- Ability to encourage and participate in direct and tough debate to resolve issues.
- Promotes good teamwork by proactively building good working relationships with others.
- Takes active role in Attendance Management highlighting and resolving issues where appropriate.
- Recognises, highlights and resolves where appropriate training needs and performance shortfalls in team members.
- Support the attendance of appropriate members of staff for the monthly Health and Safety Representatives Meetings and the Employee Committee Meeting.
- To ensure the staff rota is planned and that staff are informed of and assigned to appropriate duties enabling continuous and smooth production to the highest standards.
