About the Role
Are you naturally empathetic, highly organized, and passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for people from all over the world? English Path Leeds is looking for a vibrant, proactive Student Experience Officer to become the heart and soul of our campus community. In this role, you are much more than an administrator—you are a key face of the school and the ultimate champion of the student journey. From the moment an international student plans their trip to Leeds until the day they graduate, you will ensure they feel safe, supported, and at home.
Working hand-in-hand with our academic and operations teams, you will manage everyday school logistics, support our incredible host families, resolve welfare queries, and bring a positive, solution-focused energy to our fast-paced campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Experience & Welfare
- Be the Ultimate Welcome: Own the student arrival, induction, and departure processes, ensuring a warm, smooth transition.
- Campus Point of Contact: Confidently handle daily student enquiries regarding courses, accommodation, local life in Leeds, and general welfare.
- Welfare & Safeguarding: Proactively spot and escalate any welfare or safeguarding concerns using internal procedures, keeping our under-18s and adult groups safe.
- Data Integrity: Keep precise student records, tracking attendance and notes on our internal database system (CLASS).
- Accommodation & Host Family Management
- Home Away from Home: Act as the primary link between students, providers, and host families to guarantee high-quality living arrangements.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Support the recruitment, vetting (DBS checks), and onboarding of host families while ensuring strict alignment with British Council and safeguarding standards.
- Relationship Management: Build strong, commercially sustainable relationships with accommodation providers to expand our local network.
- Administration & Campus Operations
- Front-of-House Excellence: Professionally manage walk-in, telephone, and email enquiries with a welcoming attitude.
- Logistics & Events: Prepare arrival welcome packs, assist with airport transfer coordination, and bring creative energy to our social activities and student excursions.
- Peak-Period Agility: Support the wider operations team with administrative tasks and reporting, jumping in on the emergency phone rota or assisting with occasional evening/weekend work during busy summer cycles.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- Experience: Previous success in customer service, hospitality, student services, education, or accommodation administration.
- Cultural Awareness: Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is highly preferred.
- Organizational Core: Outstanding administrative skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to seamlessly handle multiple tasks in a bustling environment.
- Tech & Systems: A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience navigating database or CRM platforms.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Prior understanding of student welfare or safeguarding practices is a huge plus.
Personal Attributes
- The Vibe: Approachable, empathetic, culturally sensitive, and driven by a genuine desire to go the extra mile for our students.
- Under Pressure: You stay calm, positive, and solutions-focused when unexpected challenges pop up.
- Team Spirit: You are a collaborative team player who brings energy and flexibility to the workplace.
Our Commitment to Values
At English Path, we value the safety and dignity of our community. The successful candidate will actively champion:
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment compliant with Health & Safety and British Council guidelines.
