Role Overview
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Running Props Technician to support the smooth delivery of rehearsals and performances. Working closely with senior staff, you'll help prepare, maintain, and operate props, ensuring every production runs seamlessly from rehearsal room to stage. This hands-on role involves setting and tracking props, assisting with scene changes, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring backstage areas remain organised, safe, and performance-ready. You'll be adaptable, collaborative, and thrive in a fast-paced live theatre environment where no two days are the same. Responsibilities
- Set and track props for rehearsals and performances.
- Assist with scene changes and prop moves.
- Maintain accurate documentation of props and equipment.
- Ensure backstage areas are organised, safe, and performance-ready.
Requirements
- Previous professional theatre experience in a prop capacity and an excellent understanding of current theatre practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with colleagues and staff at all levels.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently, under minimum supervision.
- A proactive, flexible, collaborative, and conscientious approach to work with an open mind to new or different ways of working.
- Excellent punctuality and a professional attitude.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
