As Visitor Operations Manager (Fixed Term Cover) you will be responsible for ensuring that the building is fully operational during scheduled opening hours. You will manage the smooth-running of the day-to-day operations and Front of House services and will work alongside the Building Operations team to deliver the required services for Events, Hires and Artistic Programme activities. You will be responsible for overseeing the Front of House administration, supervising extra staff on event days, and managing the ‘soft facilities’ contracts. This post is required for a fixed term, covering a maternity cover post, and the duration of the role will be for 15 months, in line with that maternity cover.
Your main responsibilities as Visitor Operations Manager (Fixed Term Cover) will include:
- Oversee the smooth, safe running of all activity at the Mulryan Centre for Dance (MCD).
- Be a responsible keyholder, first aider, fire marshal, and oversee FOH to ensure all front and rear of house areas are well-presented, and health and safety compliant at all times.
- Ensure smooth delivery of all key services at reception, and manage all ‘soft facilities’ contractors, communicating clear requirements for all service levels and standards.
- Provide support services for colleagues in Producing, Technical, Development, Marketing and Commercial.
- Build positive working relationships with all team members, internal and external contacts and stakeholders.
- Lead by example as a team player within the wider Building Operations team.
- Plan and manage workflows to deal effectively with multiple, competing deadlines.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience of working on a supervisory or managerial level in Building Operations, Front of House, Events or similar, within the performing arts or cultural sector.
- Experience of working in a busy customer-orientated environment.
- Experience of line management of direct reports and ability to support training and development, allocation of duties and rota management, creating an environment where team members can thrive.
- Ability to work to a shift pattern including early morning, evening and weekend shifts.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload in order to manage busy periods and meet deadlines.
