We are looking for a Health, Safety and Security Manager to join our team. You'll be on a permanent, full time basis, working 36 hours per week. The position can be based at home/hybrid, at our London office, or at an appropriate site in the region. There is a requirement for frequent travel within the East and London and occasional travel to other parts of England.

Working with our stunning historic properties, including Kenwood House, Wrest Park and Framlingham Castle makes for a varied and unique place to come to work, with some of the best views in the country! No two days are the same and managing health, safety and security in this unique and precious environment has its own set of challenges. Communication, influencing and collaboration are essential skills to embedding a culture of incident prevention and shared responsibility.

As a Health, Safety and Security Manager, you will be a single point of leadership and advice in the East and London, to ensure a safe and secure environment for our staff, volunteers, visitors and contractors, as well as our collections and assets. You will work proactively with colleagues to establish and maintain a programme of continual improvement, including frequent informal site visits, conducting audits, completing and reviewing fire/security/H&S risk assessments, attending strategic and operational meetings, analysing statistics, writing reports, developing and delivering training, coaching and involvement with commercial, creative and conservation projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of general health and safety, ideally supporting multiple sites
  • Experience of advising on projects and maintenance with a good understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Experience of writing Fire Risk Assessments
  • Experience of crime prevention, counter terrorism and security management
  • You will have a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and be a Certified (or above) Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent).

First round interviews will be held in the week commencing March 31 and April 7 on MS Teams. Second round face to face, with location and panel TBC, in April giving at least a weeks notice.
