The role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for growing and diversifying ECB revenues through brand partnerships, licensing and other integrated business development programmes across England Cricket, The Vitality T20 Blast, The Hundred, the County Championship and other domestic cricket and recreational events. The role also leads partnership management and operations across events and matches, supporting commercial frameworks with players and agencies.
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- sales, renewals, relationship management, servicing and partnership operations of brands/partners
- agency and supplier management
- venue management
- PCA & TEPP management
- licensing
- budget ownership
- Strategic responsibilities include:
- lead strategy, influence, and support execution of the development and commercialisation of the brand of women’s cricket/England Women
- develop digital, data and technology architecture that can lead to monetisation
- campaigns, content and programmes that can integrate a brand authentically and editorially
- drive the development, planning and execution of ECB’s sales activities against annual targets in excess of £30 million
- lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Cricket Partnerships venture in partnership with Two Circles
- direct the Commercial Partnerships team and ECB’s relationships with key commercial partners
- oversee intersections between commercial and operational activities across ECB departments, counties, digital and data portfolio and agency partners
- build cooperative relationships with senior level colleagues in the First‑Class Counties and the MCC
- Other duties include:
- building and executing integrated brand partnership and activation programmes across ECB content, digital, data and technology architecture to grow fans and audiences
- leading on licensing, merchandise and retail strategies for England Cricket and The Hundred
- identifying and securing strategic partners and exploring new revenue opportunities for English cricket
- managing commercial relationships with the PCA, Team England Player Partnership and the Counties, including negotiating key commercial rights agreements
- collaborating with the Commercial department, The Hundred team and ECB leadership to ensure commercial views are represented
- office‑based; requires presence in the office a minimum of three days per week
Qualifications
- 12‑15 years of industry experience ideally at a rights holder, brand or agency
- Strong relationships across sport, brand marketing and broadcast
- Comprehensive knowledge of sales, marketing, sports sponsorship, partnership operations, content, data and digital
- Understanding of conventional and digital media platforms within the modern marketing mix
- Deep understanding of audiences and consumer brands
- Outstanding sales, problem‑solving and negotiating skills
- Strong analytical and creative capabilities
- Experience with legal agreements and contract negotiations
- Deadline‑driven with high sales delivery ambition
- Proven record of successful client relationships and strategic account management
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, organisational and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and adaptability in an evolving environment
