This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in Health & Safety. As part of the Venue team at Allianz Stadium, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across several operational departments, supporting the delivery of safe and efficient activities within a world-class environment.

Training course: Safety, health and environment technician (level 3)

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work:
- Support the development and promotion of a positive health and safety culture across departments including facilities management, stadium events, grounds operations and commercial teams.
- Assist with the delivery and development of inductions, safety briefings, and training materials for employees and contractors.
- Observe, support, and contribute to risk assessments, inspections, management system audits and routine safety walkarounds across the site.
- Assist in the review and development of emergency preparedness procedures, including fire safety plans, and the safe management of hazardous substances.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret health and safety data to support reporting and performance monitoring.
- Promote the value of strong health and safety practices by encouraging positive behaviours and constructively challenging unsafe attitudes or misconceptions.
- Actively collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of the current strategic, business and operational plans.
- Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of the RFU, including the promotion of our culture and core values – This Rose Means Everyone: Put The Team First, Shape The Future, Respect Each Other.
- Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation.

What you'll learn:
- Present and hold an audience's attention, for example when delivering SHE training, toolbox talks, inductions or presenting data or investigation findings to the workforce or management team.
- Assist the management team in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management System.
- Provide advice on the practical implementation of the company's SHE policies and processes.
- Identify hazards and evaluate workplace instructions relevant to the individual's job.
- Support the practical application of workplace instructions and suppliers or manufacturers instructions for the safe use of equipment, materials and products.
- Support and assist in the implementation of SHE inspections and monitoring systems.
- Prepare and maintain records relating to safety, health and environmental matters that comply with legal and workplace requirements.
- Assist the management team in establishing, managing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
- Research Safety, Health and Environmental Issues and best practices.
- Assist and/or manage the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents as directed.
- Recognise where decisions have a financial cost and assist in developing a budget.
- Recognise situations where the activity will benefit from contributions and expertise of other internal departments.
This apprenticeship is delivered fully online by University of Lincoln. Under the current training plan, there is no expectation for apprentices to travel to Lincoln for training.
