The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team behind the England Red Roses squad. This role will provide physiotherapy support to the England Red Roses during training camps, 6 Nations and Nations Championship tournament phases of the season for the dates detailed.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Provide physiotherapy services to the England Red Roses players during Red Roses during training camps, 6 Nations and Nations Championship tournament phases of the season for the dates detailed.
a) On-site support to the Red Roses squad (attending designated sessions), providing consultation, diagnosis, acute treatment and assessment of fitness to play/train in conjunction with the other existing members of the medical team.
b) Supporting the planning, documenting and implementing individualised injury prevention programmes
c) Planning, documenting and delivering / co-ordinating individualised injury rehabilitation programmes
d) Monitoring player wellness and injury status
- Maintain accurate medical records using the on-line electronic medical record keeping system (Intelligence Platform: Performance Medicine) in accordance with the England Elite Rugby
Best practice medical record keeping guidance for Medical Practitioners and Therapists
and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Guidelines and otherwise ensure that physiotherapy services for all Red Roses players meet agreed standards - Participate as part of an inter-disciplinary sport science and medical team to facilitate world class player development and care.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
- Chartered Physiotherapist and / or Health Professions Council Membership.
- Master\'s degree or equivalent in physiotherapy, sports medicine, or higher qualification in sports physiotherapy or sports science desirable. The successful candidate must otherwise be able to demonstrate the capability of achieving a higher qualification
- Current Pitch Side Immediate Trauma Care Course Certificate. A temporary exemption may be granted on the basis of an assessment of approved prior learning until a course can be completed.
- Proof of continued medical education specific to sports and exercise medicine.
- A range of diverse advanced clinical skills.
Experience:
- At least 3 years\' post-registration experience with specifics of orthopaedic/sports medicine.
- At least 3 years\' experience of providing physiotherapy support to elite sportsmen or women.
- Experience of working with Senior /Academy Professional Rugby Union teams/squads prederably within the Womens sporting environment.
- Experience of self-directed work and working as part of a team.
- An understanding of and experience of applying appropriate medical
- ethics in an elite sports medicine environment.

Essential Criteria:
- Registration with CSP and holding personal indemnity insurance (evidence in CV and Registration Certificate)
- Registration with the HCPC (evidence in CV and Registration Certificate)
- 5 years post registration experience as a physiotherapist (evidence in CV)
- 3 years post graduate Experience of work in Elite sport (evidence in CV)
- Enrolment or completion of MSc in Sports medicine (evidence in CV)
- Experience of working in Rugby Union (evidence in CV)
- Evidence of up to date training in PHICIS at level 2 or above (evidence in CV and Course completion certificate)
- Hold an up to date DBS certificate
- Ability to Work in high performance sport teams
- Excellent time management and communication skill set
- Driving licence
- Hold a valid passport
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of work in women\'s sport (evidence in CV)
- Ability to undertake an extended scope of practice e.g. Acupuncture (evidence in CV and CPD Diary)
- Good IR skills including a working knowledge of Rugby Squad Medical (evidence in CV)
Other:
- The post holder must maintain confidentiality of information and be aware of the Data Protection Act and Access to Health Records Act
- The post holder will need to be cleared via an enhanced DBS check.
- It is the responsibility of the doctor to ensure that they obtain appropriate medical indemnity insurance covering this role.
- Demonstration of ongoing immunity (or in the case of non-responders, freedom from infection) to hepatitis B. Compliance will be based on: blood test result demonstrating an anti HBs level of > 100 international units per ml along with details of vaccination history and booster if > 5 years post-initial course OR (in the case of non-responders) details of vaccination history plus evidence of freedom from hepatitis B infection (dated within 12 months).
- Possession of clean driving licence.
