The Role
We are looking for a Community Game Content Creator to join our Marketing team to support the delivery of engaging, inclusive, and impactful communications for the community and grassroots game.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Create and manage high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content that promotes grassroots rugby.
- Plan, schedule and publish content across RFU digital channels.
- Tell the story of our national campaigns, as well as the clubs and people they benefit.
- Create and amplify content to showcase our commercial partners activating in the community space.
- Collaborate with clubs, Constituent Bodies (CBs), and internal teams to gather authentic stories and case studies from across the country.
- Work with the content team across social and web to tell those compelling human interest stories.
- Support national campaigns aimed at increasing participation, inclusion, and volunteer recognition within the community game.
- Help promote RFU cup competitions: school, county and club.
- Ensure all content reflects the RFU’s tone, values, and visual identity — with a particular focus on accessibility and representation.
- Assist in the organisation and promotion of key events, forums, and webinars involving the grassroots rugby community.
- Maintain content calendars and support internal communications as needed to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Work closely with relevant agencies to plan and deliver content.
- Contribute to ideation and content development, with a focus on moving content forwards
- Actively collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of the current strategic, business and operational plans.
- Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of the RFU, including the promotion of our culture and core values – This Rose Means Everyone: Put The Team First, Shape The Future, Respect Each Other.
- Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience

- Proven experience and in content creation, communications, or digital marketing — ideally in a sport, charity, community, or grassroots context.
- Experience of social media channel management – especially Instagram
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to create compelling stories for different audiences.
- Confident using content management systems, social media platforms, and design tools – Adobe suite etc
- Experience working with video and photography (shooting and editing)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships across teams and with external partners.
- A strong understanding of, or passion for, rugby and the grassroots sports environment is highly desirable.
