A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics for a Temporary Events Assistant to support the delivery of the National Championships across multiple event dates during the summer period. Reporting to the Head of Competition & Partnerships, this role will support the preparation, transport and on‑site delivery of event equipment, ensuring the successful execution of England Athletics championship events. This is a hands‑on opportunity that will play an important role in the operational delivery of national competitions, working as part of a small team to provide a high‑quality event experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection, loading and unloading of event equipment from Sheffield storage.
  • Support the transportation of equipment to event locations, including Bedford and other UK venues.
  • Support the setup and pack down of event infrastructure.
  • Assist with general event‑day operations to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers to deliver high‑quality events.

Candidate

The suitable candidate will be a reliable and enthusiastic individual with an interest in events, sport or operations. The candidate will be practical and proactive, with a flexible approach to working long days and weekends. The successful applicant will ideally be based within travelling distance of Sheffield, with access to their own transport and the ability to travel independently to event locations.
