England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. The Role:

A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics for a National Endurance Manager (Off Track), on a permanent basis. The role is central to delivering the strategic objectives for off-track running disciplines in partnership with key organisations leading the delivery of off-track running competition, governance and international representative team opportunities.

Working at a strategic management level, the National Endurance Manager will be positioned to focus on implementing the off-track endurance strategy in England, with the ultimate aim of supporting athletes to progress onto GB & NI Teams and into the UKA World Class Programme.

Regular interaction through inter-departmental working, with colleagues in other areas of England Athletics business is fundamentally important as we work to “connect” the grassroots participation aspects of our strategy with the Talent Strategy.

The postholder will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Delivering the strategic objectives for off-track running disciplines in partnership with key organisations leading the delivery of off-track running competition, governance and international representative team opportunities.
  • Play a vital role in supporting the development of athletes and coaches by implementing the off-track endurance strategy across disciplines including cross country, road, mountain, and ultra-running.
  • Strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders who deliver competition, championships and international representative opportunities for English athletes to ensure a clear and aligned development pathway for endurance athletes at all levels.
  • Working closely with the network of England Athletics Talent Hubs based at academic institutions, to enhance and increase athlete and coach accessibility to performance environments, sport science support and expert coaching support.
