Formed in 2005, England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. We work in partnership with the wider athletics family, especially our member clubs and bodies, UK Athletics, Sport England & commercial partners, to grow opportunities for everyone to experience our sport and to enable them to reach their full potential.
The rich history and heritage of the sport in England lies in the foundations built and inherited from the Amateur Athletic Association (AAAs), one of the oldest governing bodies of sport in the world. England Athletics is deeply proud of this legacy and is conscious of the responsibility to preserve it.
England Athletics, in partnership with the AAA\’s, is looking to recruit an Athletics Heritage Project Officer to lead its efforts in consolidating and celebrating this rich history and heritage for now and in the future.
This role is responsible for devising an Athletics Heritage Project strategy and annual operational plan that will celebrate, educate, protect, and preserve the rich history and heritage of the sport of athletics and running in England, working on behalf of the National Governing Body and in partnership with the Amateur Athletic Association (AAAs).
The postholder will give specific focus and consideration to the collation, archiving, record keeping, display, exhibition, and celebration of resources directly linked to the historical journey of our sport across England, so should be able to demonstrate experience in these areas.
