England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. We work in partnership with the wider athletics family, especially our member clubs and bodies, UK Athletics, Sport England and commercial partners, to grow opportunities for everyone to experience our sport and to enable them to reach their full potential.

The Role

A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics on a permanent contract for a Commercial Partnerships and Activation Executive, to support the Head of Commercial Partnerships with partnership acquisition and commercial growth. The role will play a key part in bringing partnerships to life through strategic activation, community engagement, experiential delivery and strong account management, whilst also supporting membership engagement initiatives, participation programmes and the wider commercial strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and activation of England Athletics’ commercial partnerships, delivering strategic plans aligned to partner and organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver campaigns, partnership rights and grassroots activations across key programmes Run Together, Funetics, FMC festivals, championships, RUN:EA and wider community initiatives.
  • Drive partner engagement across membership and participation programmes, through creative content, integrated campaigns and innovative activation concepts, including joint partnerships such as the Personal Best Foundation and platforms like Endurance Zone.
  • Support commercial growth by contributing to new business opportunities, proposals and relationship development.
  • Manage partnership delivery, including onboarding, reporting and evaluation, ensuring professional execution and measurable impact.

The suitable candidate should be a commercially aware individual with 2–3 years’ experience in sponsorship, partnerships, account management or sports marketing. The role requires strong relationship management and communication skills, along with experience delivering campaigns or activations. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders, and bring a proactive, solutions‑focused approach. A creative mindset, solid presentation skills and a passion for sport and grassroots participation are essential, as is the flexibility to support events and community‑based activity.
