PURPOSE
With the Ashes on it’s way, it’s another exciting year to work in cricket and this Senior Event Manager role will offer the individual the opportunity to be at the forefront of cricket delivery in England and Wales.
The role will plan and support the delivery of cricket and venue operations across a number of formats including men’s and women’s international cricket, televised domestic cricket and The Hundred, helping to create a world‑class experience for players, match officials, media and fans across all our venues and those watching at home.
The successful candidate will require excellent planning skills and attention to detail, with the ability to build relationships, problem solve under pressure and manage a team.
They will be required to work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver World Class standards in venue collaboration and operations.

- YOU’LL BE DOING
- Work in collaboration to coordinate, plan and deliver operational plans for multiple stakeholders and departments, delivering World Class fan (in venue and at home) and player and match official experience across all touchpoints for multiple formats of cricket across your venues.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with your venues, ECB departments, international and domestic teams, suppliers, stakeholders and service providers.
- Act as a primary point of contact for day‑to‑day operational delivery with key partners and venues.
- Championing the requirements of diverse groups of spectators, ensuring accessibility and diversity of spectators across different formats is considered in venue planning.
- Contribute to the identification and monitoring of risks across operational areas, including supporting compliance with health and safety regulations, policies, and operational procedures.
- Match Management for selected matches across the international and domestic calendar in both men’s and women’s cricket at your venues.
- Run post‑match debriefs with your operational area and with your venues, gathering lessons learned and identifying improvements for future events, including having difficult conversations where required to ensure high standards are set and met.
- Line management, providing a supportive environment for junior team members to thrive.
- Leading work streams or projects as and when there is a requirement to do so.
- YOU’LL HAVE
- Experience leading the planning and operational delivery of major events and matches in live sport.
- A comprehensive understanding of venue management and operational implementation
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, deliver under pressure, problem solve and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong planning, coordination, and administrative skills with good attention to detail.
As well as the ability to prepare complex documents, lead large meetings, present and communicate to a wide stakeholder network.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills alongside an ability to build strong relationships.
- Knowledge of or passion for cricket and live sports
- Knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and risk protocols in live event environments.
- A proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humour; understanding the ever‑changing events environment which will include unsociable hours.
- Core management skills, including empathetic, good listener, inclusive values and supportive nature.
