SHARE

Winchmore Hill & Enfield Hockey Club is a friendly yet ambitious club, catering for a wide range of playing ability and experience, including a burgeoning youth section that is transitioning from junior hockey to the adult teams.

We are proud to offer an exciting role for someone who is looking to challenge their skills as a Hockey Coach.

The current role is to deliver an engaging and developmental coaching programme to our senior members, with Saturday availability to coach home teams being desirable but not essential to the role.

As Head Coach you will design, communicate and deliver weekly training sessions for our adult section, currently formed of 2 men’s and 2 women’s teams with a wide range of skills and playing experience. Training takes place on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:30pm, at Southbury Leisure Centre in Enfield, with match days on Saturdays.

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach to bring their own energy and hockey experience to the club, developing and nurturing players who are keen to listen and learn.

About you

  • Experienced hockey coach / player, preferably with a coaching qualification. We will consider and support candidates willing to work towards their coaching badges while in the club’s employment.
  • Well organised – Able to prepare and deliver training sessions that are engaging and enjoyable.
  • Good communicator – Able to explain ideas clearly, listen to feedback and adjust training plans accordingly.

As a club, we will

  • Work with you to agree the most appropriate structure for training to ensure all teams get the coaching they need.
  • Support you by providing assistant coaches to help deliver the sessions.
  • Provide feedback each week to help with planning future training sessions.

For the right candidate there is also room to grow this position further with our junior section. We are happy to offer support to any candidate with a growth mindset, drive and ability in developing a school outreach programme to create new player pathways into our club, while developing the coaching role into a workable business opportunity.

Location: Enfield, London
Salary: Competitive hourly rate depending on experience, qualifications and references
