Join Our Coaching Team

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Sessional Hockey Coach to join our inclusive coaching team to help deliver high-quality coaching sessions across our junior and adult hockey programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing players, creating enjoyable training environments, and helping grow participation in hockey.

The role would particularly suit an early-career coach who is actively involved in the sport, either as a current or recent player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging hockey training sessions.
  • Coach players of varying ages and abilities.
  • Support player development through technical and tactical coaching.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Work alongside fellow coaches, volunteers and club officials.
  • Attend occasional tournaments, festivals and development events.

Essential Requirements

  • Sessional Hockey Coaching Qualification (e. g. Level 2 Award in Sessional Hockey Coaching or equivalent).
  • Current safeguarding certification.
  • First Aid qualification
  • Valid DBS/PVG check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Passion for developing players and promoting participation.

Desirable Requirements

  • Active hockey player competing at club, university, county or higher level.
  • Experience coaching junior or adult hockey programmes.
  • Experience supporting talent development pathways.
