REWHC is seeking applications for the role of Ladies’ 1st Team Head Coach. This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the Midlands\’ top clubs, boasting a rich history, a large membership base, and a thriving junior section. As an England Hockey Talent Centre, REWHC is committed to excellence, and we aim to build on our strong foundations to achieve National League promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Coaching:
- Coach the Ladies’ 1st Team, fostering a performance-driven environment within the club.
- Develop and implement an elite programme for the Ladies’ section, including the 1st Team, 2nd Team, and emerging junior players.
- Collaborate with the Ladies’ 2nd Team coach on training plans, player progression, and team selection.
Training & Matches:
- Lead two high-quality training sessions per week.
- Oversee match preparations and strategy for weekend league fixtures.
Pre-Season Preparation:
- Plan and execute pre-season training schedules, including fitness programmes, player recruitment, and arranging pre-season fixtures.
Club Collaboration:
- Work closely with the REWHC committee to support strategic initiatives and achieve the club’s aspirations.
- Promote a culture of feedback, development, and communication across the Ladies’ section.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience coaching at a high-performance level, preferably within a club environment. Minimum Level 2 England Hockey coaching qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage players of varying levels and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to build a feedback-rich, inclusive culture that challenges and supports players.
- Proactive and organised approach to planning, with a focus on long-term player and team development.
