As we enter an exciting new chapter of strategic growth and commercial development, we are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Commercial Executive to join our team.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Commercial Executive with a proven track record in commercial sales, sponsorship, events or partnerships. This exciting role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of Doncaster Hockey Club by expanding our revenue streams and building lasting relationships with local and regional businesses.
This is a flexible, part-time role with a generous 30% commission on all profits generated, making it ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in sport while being rewarded for success.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation: Identify, develop and secure new revenue opportunities for the club across sponsorships, events, and strategic partnerships.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with current sponsors and partners to ensure retention and growth.
Event Activation: Lead or support the commercial planning and delivery of club events including fundraising, community initiatives, and business engagement opportunities.
Brand Development: Work with the Chair and wider committee to enhance the club\’s commercial profile and presence in the local business community.
Reporting: Provide monthly updates to the DHC committee, including pipeline, performance and progress against commercial targets.
Strategy Input: Contribute ideas to support long-term sustainability and innovation in commercial activity.
Person Specification
Experience in a commercial role, ideally within sport, events, sales, marketing, or partnerships
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging a range of stakeholders
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet financial targets
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Passion for sport and community development
Knowledge of or experience in grassroots or amateur sport
Familiarity with CRM systems, sponsorship activation, and commercial contracts
Existing network within the Doncaster or wider business community
