We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to join our People team, reporting to the Head of People. This role will shape, lead and drive delivery of L&D activity across the Enginuity Group, ensuring that learning is aligned to organisational priorities and delivers real value.
The Enginuity Group has grown over the past 5 years and with a headcount of nearly 200 colleagues, this role is both operational and strategic, with an opportunity to really shape L&D to support the business and would suit someone passionate about developing others who wants to bring their skills and expertise to make a real impact.
About the roleYou’ll take ownership of the full learning lifecycle, from identifying needs and designing solutions through to delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement. The focus of the role is on building capability and making sure learning investment supports long term organisational success.
You’ll develop and deliver a learning and development strategy and annual plan that reflects business goals and workforce needs. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will identify skills gaps and design a range of learning solutions, including formal training, digital learning, coaching, mentoring and self-development resources.
You will plan and deliver training programmes using a blended approach, working with internal teams and external providers to ensure quality and value for money. This includes managing the L&D budget, building relationships with suppliers and making sure learning interventions are delivered effectively and within agreed costs.
This role will support workforce planning, developing talent pipelines such as apprenticeships and graduate programmes, and leading key initiatives such as the EAL Academy and leadership development programmes. You’ll take a data‑driven approach to measure the impact of learning activity, providing clear reporting and using insight to drive continuous improvement.
You will ensure compliance training is in place and meeting organisational needs, support wider organisational projects with your expertise, and stay up to date with learning trends and technologies to bring new ideas into the organisation.
About youYou’ll bring demonstrable experience from a similar Senior L&D role, with experience of developing and delivering learning and development strategies, managing training plans and overseeing budgets. Your will have skills in digital learning platforms and modern learning practices and have experience supporting apprenticeship programmes or similar initiatives.
A relevant qualification such as a degree/ CIPD Level 5, or equivalent relevant experience, is expected. You will have strong facilitation skills and a good understanding of effective learning approaches and methods, along with a proactive, solutions focused mindset and the ability to work independently. You’ll be a strong communicator, able to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders. Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are important, along with strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and reporting.
Most importantly, you will be prepared to work both strategically and hands‑on, to support the business and people team and drive L&D forward.
Finally, experience in identifying skills gaps to support strategic workforce planning would be beneficial, along with a recognised L&D qualification such as the CIPD Associate Diploma in Learning and Development Level 5.
