Financial Services & Insurance Commercial Strategy

As Adyen continues to expand and deepen our market presence in Financial Services & Insurance, we are seeking a senior team member to help build and lead our global commercial strategy for this vertical, with a strong focus on our banking licence markets (US, UK & EU). This role will be instrumental in achieving our growth objectives by leveraging a deep understanding of the financial services and insurance landscapes to drive new business acquisition and expand our relationships with existing clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the growth, adoption, and usage of Adyen's services within the global Financial Services and Insurance sectors, with a primary focus on significantly increasing our market share and penetration in this priority industry.
  • In partnership with Product Marketing, shape our go-to-market strategy and positioning for our critical product areas. Communicate this strategy in an actionable way to our global Sales & Account Management and Partnerships organization.
  • Partner closely with regional Heads of Sales and their respective vertical teams to execute our Financial Services and Insurance market strategy. This includes identifying and targeting key new logos, supporting and leading prospecting efforts, tailoring our established value propositions to address specific prospect needs, and driving the sales process to close deals and increase account penetration.
  • Develop and refine our segmentation of the Financial Services and Insurance customer portfolio, identifying opportunities to expand into new sub-verticals, markets, and/or countries, with a focus on high-potential segments. Provide clear prioritization to maximize impact.
  • Develop and articulate product-specific value propositions that highlight Adyen's competitive differentiation within the Financial Services and Insurance industries.
  • Source and analyse feedback from the global Financial Services and Insurance customer base and internal Sales/Account Management teams to identify product gaps and market opportunities.
  • Partner with Product and Compliance teams to prioritise, develop, and launch new solutions that address those opportunities and align with Adyen's vision for the Financial Services and Insurance sectors.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external educational materials, collateral, and commercial documentation relevant to the Financial Services and Insurance verticals.
  • Externally represent Adyen as a thought leader in the Financial Services sector.
  • Partner with Marketing on the global marketing, PR, and event strategy, ensuring alignment with our objectives for growth in the Financial Services and Insurance markets.
  • Support commercial efforts in the wider Financial Services industry and the GCS team at large, including converting Financial Services opportunities.

Who you are

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a commercial strategy or business consulting role within the technology sector, preferably financial technology, with a strong and demonstrable background in the Financial Services and/or Insurance industry.
  • Past experience in both Enterprise and Platform business models is a distinct plus.
  • Expert knowledge of the Financial Services & Insurance is essential, including a deep understanding of market trends, competitive dynamics, operating models, and regulatory environments.
  • Significant experience in successfully working with leading Financial Services and Insurance to drive financial success is required.
