Our Mission in Operations is to deliver an effortless experience for everyone - helping Monzo deliver on its mission of making money work for everyone. Data is crucial to the success of this mission and Operations Analytics Engineers are at the core of how we build, scale and re-architect our Operations Data Warehouse to enable Monzo to make better decisions, faster, and help serve Monzo’s customers better.

We’re looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer within our Operations team to help build world class service for the bank of the future. You will play a critical role in overseeing our foundational data platforms, identifying and driving opportunities to enhance our current capabilities. Your expertise will be pivotal in allowing us to scale into new markets and working with partners internally and externally to ensure we can design and build a first class system to meet our customers’ needs.

You’ll work closely within our Operations Collective with product and engineering teams to build out our forecasting and routing systems, while partnering with our core operations team to enable a fast and agile workforce.

Your responsibilities as a Lead Analytics Engineer will include:

  • Serving as a data architect for Monzo’s Operations data, contributing to the design and scalability of data models that measure the performance of our Operations product suite.
  • Develop robust data models downstream of backend services, primarily in BigQuery, to support internal reporting, machine learning, large language models, as well as financial and regulatory use cases.
  • Scoping, building and leading through others the re-architecture of entire domains across Operations (including data about our workforce and about demands of our customers).
  • Be a key voice in shaping and maintaining best practices.
