About the job

Keep the labs running where Graphcore hardware moves from idea to evidence.

As a Lab Technician, you will help keep Graphcore’s Bristol electronics laboratories operational, safe, and ready for engineering work.

You will support the facilities, equipment, procedures, and practical setups that enable hardware teams to move quickly.

Your work will directly shape the quality and reliability of lab operations across DC Engineering.

From ESD controls to calibration, asset management, and technical readiness, you will help engineers focus on solving hard problems.

You will support test benches, equipment configuration, board modifications, cable work, and safe working practices.

You will also develop standard operating procedures that help multidisciplinary teams work consistently.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in practical ownership. You will make the lab sharper, safer, and easier to use every day.

The team and culture

The Laboratory team keeps Graphcore’s Bristol labs ready for cross-functional engineering work.

The team supports installation, maintenance, repair, modification, documentation, tools, assets, and test equipment.

Work happens close to the hardware, with technicians and engineers solving practical issues together.

You will take ownership of lab readiness, respond quickly, and help teams keep moving.

Decisions are shaped by safety, evidence, technical standards, and clear working practices.

You will be trusted to speak up, improve processes, and support others through guidance and mentoring.

What we're looking for

  • Experience working in an electronics lab environment.
  • Strong understanding of electronic test equipment, including setup, calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of ESD prevention, health and safety, and safe laboratory working practices.
  • Experience repairing and modifying PCB assemblies to IPC-7711/21 and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Experience with cable and wire harness assemblies to drawings and IPC-620 standards, plus IPC-A-610 inspection.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach, with clear communication and the ability to mentor junior team members.
