About this role
The role will provide a point of contact, information, and lead for the firm’s disability and accessibility strategy. This role will serve as a central case manager to eliminate barriers for employees in the workplace, taking accountability for and executing new and ongoing disability support cases.
Working alongside HR, this role will champion disability inclusion and support the firm to provide first-class support for talent with disabilities.
Expertise:
- Understanding of relevant global legislation/regulation, guidelines, and best practices towards eliminating barriers for employees with disabilities within the workplace, specifically the Equality Act 2010 and Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Prior experience of working within a Health and Safety team and detailed knowledge of dealing with workplace needs assessments and requirements on a global setting.
- Experience in creating personalized emergency plans for all employees with specialist workplace needs and coordinating training for colleagues and managers on such topics.
- Experience in advising organizations, teams, and managers on how best to support talent with disabilities.
- Experience in developing and rolling out Disability Awareness Training in multiple jurisdictions, building inclusive environments for talent with disabilities.
- Experience of working or advocating for people with disabilities.
- Strong relationship and project management experience.
- Understanding of best-in-class technologies and emerging technologies designed to support employees with disabilities.
Duties:
- Champion and promote best practices across the company, with particular focus on product development, marketing, PR, and HR.
- Keep up to date with new legislation, good practice guidance, and innovation in the accessibility space on a global basis.
- Provide insights and recommendations for future strategies to improve and enhance our accessibility and disability inclusion strategies – both internally and externally.
- Build relationships with the firm’s Ability and Allies Network, developing a collaborative approach to the improvement of facilities and services for employees and applicants with disabilities.
- Promote the needs of people with disabilities within the firm and ‘champion’ disability issues, highlighting the business benefits of creating and maintaining an accessible working environment.
- Work across functions, with external vendors and partners to provide timely support and tools that enable employees to thrive.
- Lead regular professional access audits and local benchmarks such as the UK Disability Confident Scheme and other global schemes.
- Manage all disability support requests and lead the education for all employees globally on Disability and Accessibility in the Workplace and any other disability-related matter. Partner with HR, Talent, and DEI Teams to develop a range of self-help resources and toolkits for managers and employees.
- Lead on global inclusivity and accessibility projects that align with the company’s accessibility and inclusion strategy. Develop and deliver on global projects and initiatives as they relate to disability and inclusion.
