Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the development and execution of the Digital & Technology workforce strategy to ensure our organisation is equipped with the right talent, skills and capacity in the right location to meet current and future business needs and drive E2E efficiency.
To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.
What you’ll do
As our Strategic Workforce Lead for Digital and Technology, you’ll work with leaders and partners across M&S to implement our sourcing and location strategy and drive measurable operational efficiency across our 3,000 Digital & Technology function. You will:
- Own, define and implement our multi-year Sourcing & Location Strategy, in partnership with the Head of Technology Strategy to achieve our Transformation outcomes
- Build the Strategic Workforce Management capability to lead our c.3k global colleagues across internal FTE and external partners, demonstrating sophisticated workforce analytics to provide insights into workforce trends, efficiency and skills readiness.
- Design and implement robust capacity & resource management processes, including time capture tooling and data (in partnership with People team)
- Lead annual and multi-year workforce planning / scenario modelling
- Supervise the external market to provide insight into trends and competitive landscape and work closely with our Partners to develop strategies to address
Who you are
- Demonstrated ability in strategic workforce management
- Shown experience in workforce planning and optimisation, in a global, sophisticated organisation
- Strong understanding of technology workforce dynamics, including industry trends and in-demand skills
- Track record of delivering large-scale workforce initiatives (including supporting the build out of new centres of perfection)
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into insights and actionable plans
