Amazon EU is looking for an experienced leader to manage one of our biggest vendors in EU Office Products. This is a strategic Senior Vendor Manager role with full ownership of the P&L and relationship for the vendor cross category. In addition, the role involves leading the JBP and its strategic workstreams cross category for this vendor. The role also includes management of some of our key distributors for the Print business alongside category SME roles and projects. This role partners closely with multiple partner teams and will liaise with Amazon counterparts in other regions as we continue to scale this business across Europe.

  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, endlessly curious, analytical, detail-oriented and highly organized; comfortable with ambiguity and able to think creatively to identify and capture new opportunities.
  • They will be a strong communicator, equally fluent working with internal partner teams, external head vendors, and Amazon leadership.
  • Candidates for this role should have deep experience in retail buying and vendor negotiations in particular, cross-functional collaboration, as well as strong comfort with analytics and a track record of successful data-driven decision making.

  • Competencies include strong negotiation skills, creative problem-solving, analytics, communication abilities, and mentorship ability.

This position can be based in any Amazon EU Retail locations: London, Manchester, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Munich. The team leader is based in London.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the 'business owner' for assigned vendors/categories, possessing a complete understanding of the strategic context of internal and external variables that impact your business. This entails owning forecasting, monitoring, reporting on the business, along with responsibility for driving projects and promotional strategy to achieve business goals.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments.
  • Lead effective negotiations with vendors to establish joint goals, improve cost structure, and sustainably grow the P&L.
  • As an innovator, you will influence the design of the category and improve customer experience.
  • Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans to grow your business, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with counterparts across in-stock management, marketing, finance, Amazon programs, and retail systems to operate and grow the business.
  • Concise representation of your business to senior Amazon leaders through reporting, business reviews, financial planning sessions, and escalations.
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Continually improve and automate manual processes to enable you and your team to scale better as the business grows.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, or experience in account management, project/program management, or buying.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience in managing complex vendors and at least 2 AVN cycles.
