DESCRIPTION
An AWS Technical Account Manager is a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for our Enterprise Support customers. As a trusted advisor, you’ll have a direct impact in helping our customers gain the most value from cloud technology. You’ll craft and execute strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of AWS services, including a range of products such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, CloudFront CDN, IoT, and more.
Our Technical Account Managers partner with iconic businesses, from startups to large enterprises undergoing significant transformation. You’ll provide advice on architecture, support strategy, project and launch planning, as well as ongoing operational issues.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:

  1. Advising on solutions, providing technical guidance, and advocating for the customer.
  2. Ensuring AWS environments remain operationally healthy while reducing cost and complexity.
  3. Developing trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges.
  4. Driving technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.
  5. Consulting with partners from developers to C-suite executives.
  6. Collaborating with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers.
  7. Proactively finding opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
  8. Providing detailed reviews of service events, monthly & quarterly metrics, and detailed pre-launch planning.
  9. Solving a variety of problems as customers migrate their workloads to the cloud.
  10. Uplifting customer capabilities by running workshops and brown bag sessions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications.
– Experience in technical engineering.
– Experience in external enterprise customer-facing roles as a technical lead, with strong oral and written communication skills.
– Knowledge of cloud-based architecture, cloud services, and experience in customer-facing roles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in a 24×7 operational services or support environment.
– Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environments as a technical lead.
– Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
