XPS Group is a leading UK consulting and administration business specialising in the pensions and insurance sectors. Our Pensions Administration business continues to grow, and we are now looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our vibrant Newcastle office with hybrid working. This role would suit someone with previous experience in a Payroll role where they have gained knowledge and experience of running end-to-end payroll processes and managing a portfolio of clients.

The Role

  • Run end-to-end payroll processes for a portfolio of clients/schemes.
  • Take responsibility for the completion of payroll processes relating to data entry tasks and activities.
  • Gather data and information from various sources and carry out data entry and basic analysis activities.
  • Carry out standard and non-standard payroll tasks autonomously in a timely manner.
  • Communicate clearly with Pensions Administration team members regarding payroll and pensioner queries.
  • Provide support for senior colleagues on ongoing payroll projects and specific business development activities.
  • Support training for new staff members and validate their work for accuracy.
  • Identify errors and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Take personal responsibility and ownership for task completion.
  • Be a team player and own your personal development.

Your Profile

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in running end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients or large volume.
  • Strong Maths and English GCSE or equivalent qualification - minimum grade C/4.
  • Experience of dealing with high volumes of work.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and independently.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders and clients.

Desirable Criteria:

  • CIPP qualified desirable, not essential. We welcome those qualified by experience.
